I have a place, my place in society, but not only by what I achieve through my work (and this should be emphasized) but by what I am as whole.Work is also an aspect of being able to experience who I am, what's good for me, what hurts, what I like and what I don't understand. |
What we aim to achieveIn our society, work ranks high for every human being. It can be the basic condition for self-endorsement and social integration. To a very high degree this also applies for handicapped people, who for the most part see themselves ousted from the ordinary job market due to the ever-rising performance pressure in our society. It must therefore always be the objective of a work facility for disabled people to achieve socialization in the job market, socialization as a process of an individual "growing into" the social systems surrounding him or her. In order to attain this goal, disabled people have the same right as the able-bodied to their work making sense - including grasping the content of work, overviewing processes and knowing what is being done and why and what for. The basis for this lies in following a cooperative and integrative approach, which
means adjusting to individual abilities, skills and interests of disabled people.

ability, interests, environment, personal development, goals and desires have to be taken
into account. For whom?Disabled people with completed compulsory education, who can read and write, who enjoy
working with computers and undergoing job preparation or want to further their
education. Our competenceThe training office is run by way of work therapies and forms an independent sector of the Workshops in Graz (HIK and Unikat). A total of five computer workplaces are available. The conceptual basis of the training office rests on four pillars:
What else do we stand for
What do we achieve Besides various administrative jobs for MOSAIK, an important focus of our work is placed on the keeping of the Public Library as well as the project documentation on ortho-pedagogy.
